Drivers in Woodside were left shocked and angry Thursday morning after a suspect went on a vandalism spree in the area leaving dozens of parked vehicles with smashed windows.

Instead of quickly hopping into their vehicles for the morning commute, the drivers were seen sweeping up the shattered glass that littered the roadway and covered seats inside their vehicles.

Police said that more than 30 vehicles were damaged in the brazen, overnight act. A suspect, or group of suspects, allegedly used blunt objects to break the windows and then rummaged through some of the vehicles in search of valuables.

At least one car owner’s wallet and credit cards were stolen, according to reports.

The vehicles—which included regular passenger cars, yellow taxis as well as Uber and Lyft vehicles— were parked along Queens Boulevard, between 51st Street and 58th Street, according to police. The stretch of road runs alongside Calvary Cemetery.

The total cost to repair the damage is believed to be in the thousands of dollars. A cab driver told NBC News that the vandalism was going to cost him a day’s work, since he could not operate until the repairs were completed.

The news outlet released video footage of the vandalism, showcasing the extent of the damage.
