A 62-year-old man was randomly stabbed on a Manhattan-bound 7 train in Long Island City Friday morning.
The victim, police said, was stabbed in the face and hand by a suspect as the train was pulling into the Queensboro Plaza subway station at around 8:40 a.m.
Police say the suspect stabbed the man for no apparent reason and then fled on foot when the train stopped at the station.
The victim was transported by EMS to Elmhurst Hospital in stable condition, police said.
The suspect is described as being in his 30s, and was last seen wearing a button-down shirt and black shorts.
No arrests have been made and the incident is still under investigation.
The MTA tweeted that the stabbing caused some delays to southbound 7 trains.
