Dozens issued summonses following noise complaints

Flushing MeadJune 4, 2015 By Michael Florio

The police responded to several complaints about loud music and partying in Flushing Meadows-Corona Park this past weekend, which lead to dozens of people receiving summonses.

Officers from the 110 Precinct wrote 38 summonses Sunday night at approximately 1 a.m. following the complaints, according to the NYPD.

The majority of the summonses issued were for being in the park after dark.

Early last week, the police responded to calls dealing with the misuse of Flushing Meadow’s parking lot. Three motorcycles and one vehicle were reportedly drifting, a technique where a driver briefly over steers at the start of a turn, causing the rear of the vehicle to skid.

The owners of motorcycles and the vehicle received a series of traffic violations and the driver of the car was charged with reckless driving, according to the NYPD.

The identities of those involved in both scenarios have not been revealed.
