The police have released video of a man who allegedly punched an Asian woman in the face in Jackson Heights last month and hurled a volley of racist statements.
The victim, a 56-year-old woman, was walking in the vicinity of 37th Avenue and 75th Street at around 6:55 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 27 when a man struck her in the back of the head with a plastic bottle before punching her in the face.
The suspect then ripped off the victim’s chain off her neck and made a number of anti-Asian statements.
The man then fled the scene on foot eastbound on 37th Road. He took the woman’s chain.
The alleged perpetrator is described as being a dark-skinned male who wore a dark-colored shirt, black shorts and black sneakers.

Why do people of color hate Asian people
I guess hate crimes against Asians have become blasé that this incident is not worthy of greater publicity and wider condemnation. Where is the outrage from our electeds? Where is this thug from and what was he doing in our neighborhood? This is absolutely horrific that this attack happened in our diverse community. Kudos to the NYPD for obtaining and sharing this video. Hope they catch this violent creep and our legal system keeps him off the streets.
