Brooklyn man charged with murder following death of 80-year-old Jackson Heights woman

A Brooklyn man has been charged with murder following the death of an 80-year-old Jackson Heights woman who died from injuries sustained during a botched robbery in September, according to the NYPD.

Jordan Vecchio, 32, was charged with murder on Jan. 15, according to police.

Vecchio allegedly robbed 80-year-old Celica Londono on Sept. 5th, near 76th Street and 35th Ave., at around 5 pm. Police found Londono with injuries to her face, abdomen and arms. She was transported to Elmhurst General Hospital.

Vecchio was arrested that day.

Londono died on Sept. 9th due to the injuries, according to police.

East Elmhurst man busted for a fatal collision in Flushing Meadows Corona Park on the 4th of July: NYPD

A Queens grand jury indicted an East Elmhurst man in connection to a July 4th fatal collision at Flushing Meadows Corona Park.

Yersson Diaz, 27, of Ericsson Street just south of LaGuardia Airport, appeared at Queens Criminal Court for a summons on Tuesday and was taken into custody, according to an NYPD spokeswoman. He was booked Tuesday afternoon at the 110th Precinct in Elmhurst, where he was charged with leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death.
