Man smashes his brother’s head with a baseball bat, following dispute over sweat pants

An East Elmhurst man struck his brother several times in the head him with a baseball bat on Sunday, according to police.

Rudy Demonteverde, 18, smacked his brother with a bat about five times following a dispute in their East Elmhurst home, according to the NYPD.

Demonteverde and his brother, Joseph, began fighting over a pair of sweat pants, according to reports. The altercation became physical and Rudy grabbed a bat and struck Joseph numerous times in the head.

Joseph was taken to Elmhurst Medical Center with head trauma, bleeding on the brain and a fractured cheekbone and eye socket.

Rudy has been arrested and faces charges of felony assault and criminal possession of a weapon, according to police.
