Driver in an SUV strikes fruit stand vendor and flees, police say

Police are searching for a driver who struck a fruit stand vendor on Christmas Day and took off.

A black SUV struck the fruit stand at the corner of 82nd Street and 37th Ave at 8:46 am on Christmas morning and then fled the scene, according to the NYPD.

The collision caused minor injuries to the fruit stand vendor, according to police. The NYPD responded to the scene.

The SUV was possibly a BMW, according to a police spokesman.

The NYPD currently have no leads and there have been no named suspects, the spokesman added. .

The investigation is ongoing.
