A man was shot dead inside the lobby of an East Elmhurst apartment building last night.
Police responded to a 911 call of a man shot inside of 26-49 96th St. at around 10:45 p.m.
The victim, 33, was found on the floor of the lobby with gunshot wounds to the neck and chest, police said. EMS responded and transported the man to NYC Health + Hospital / Elmhurst where he was pronounced dead.
There have been no arrests and the investigation is ongoing,
The victim’s name has yet to be released, pending family notification.

Stop and Frisk works, but certain “people” get offended, so let’s not do that anymore, let’s take away the anti-crime unit, defund the police & shut down Rikers Island.
Stop ‘n frisk had an 8% arrest rate. Cost the city MILLIONS in taxpayer money to pay for the overtime and lawsuits. Crime didn’t go down.
The tax ‘n spend right wants to spend more money on it. Kind of the like $15 billion for the wall
Bail reform, defund the police , all that negatively against the NYPD . Let the NYPD do their job, lock up the criminals. Why would anyone want to shut down Rikers Island ? But Mayor DeBlasio wants to please a certain community. It’s not working, Vision Zero is not working, the homeless situation is out of control. Let it be known that all of this is happening on Mayor Bill DeBlasio watch. Blame Mayor Bill DeBlasio and his policies, his goons for turning the city upside down.
He’s not eligible for bail reform and the NYPD haven’t been defunded by a penny yet.
