2 children, adult injured after being struck by cement truck in Corona

A cement truck struck a mother and her two children who were crossing a Corona street this afternoon.

The driver drove into the three while they were crossing at the intersection of 55th Avenue and Junction Blvd at 2:30 pm, according to the NYPD.

The police said the truck belonged to Corona Ready Mix Transit.

The three were taken to Elmhurst Hospital in stable condition, according to the NYPD. The mother suffered a serious injury, while the two children suffered minor injuries, according to an FDNY spokesman.

The NYPD Collision Investigation Squad is investigating the incident and no arrests have been made. The driver remained at the scene, an NYPD spokesman said.
