Police looking to question man in connection to Jackson Heights hit-and-run

Police have released a photo of a man who they believe was a passenger in the vehicle that struck and killed a 17-year-old on Northern Blvd in a hit-and-run last Tuesday.

The police said that the photo is of a man who exited the passenger door shortly after the black Toyota Camry ran down Jaremello Ovidio at the intersection of Northern Blvd and Junction Blvd at around 10:50 pm.

Detectives would like to interview the man in regards to the incident.

The Camry was traveling westbound on Northern Blvd, when it hit Ovidio, police said.  The driver did not stop and the vehicle continued traveling westbound on Northern Blvd.

The Highway Collision Investigation Squad Detectives obtained the photo taken from surveillance video.

Police are asking for anyone with any information to call 1-800-577-TIPS.

Three homeless men were arraigned in Queens Criminal Court on Tuesday and variously charged with felony robbery, attempted gang assault, and assault for allegedly stealing the belongings of a 69-year-old homeless man who was asleep on a Manhattan-bound 7 train in Woodside early Sunday morning.

The victim woke up and tried to regain his property. During the ensuing brawl, the victim fatally stabbed a 37-year-old assailant and slashed a second man. The victim has not been charged in the fatal stabbing. The investigation by the NYPD’s Queens Homicide Squad and members of the 108th Precinct in Long Island City remains ongoing.
