A 23-year-old man was found dead with a gunshot wound to his head in an apparent suicide floating in the East River yesterday, according to police.

Police discovered the man’s body after responding to a 911 call at around 6:50 p.m. that there was an individual in the water near 25-40 Shore Blvd. by Astoria Park.

Cops found the victim unconscious lying face up with a gunshot wound under his chin, police said.

The victim was removed from the water and EMS pronounced the man dead at the scene.

A Smith & Wesson firearm was found in his hand and police said they believe the man shot himself in the face intentionally, police said.

A suicide note was also found at the scene, according to police.

Police do not suspect any foul play.
