Elmhurst house fire leaves nine injured, including one critically

A fire erupted inside an Elmhurst house early this morning, leaving nine injured.

The blaze broke out at 42-67 Ketcham Street, off Britton Ave, at around 4:20 am Monday in a three-story private house, according to the FDNY.

The two-alarm fire left nine injured, including one person who was brought to Weill Cornell in critical condition. Three of the injured were firefighters. All were brought to Elmhurst Hospital.

The fire, which engulfed all three floors, was brought under control at 6:50 am, according to the FDNY.

The fire remains under investigation and it is unclear at this time what started it, according to the FDNY.
