A developer has filed plans to construct a school at the former Entenmann’s bakery outlet site on Queens Boulevard, according to a Department of Buildings filing.

Chetrit Group, a Manhattan-based development company, filed a plan to construct a five-story school building at 70-50 Queens Blvd. site on Feb. 28.

The lot was bought by Chetrit Group for $11.8 million in June 2017 and the bakery outlet building was later demolished.

Chetrit Group now plans to build a 71,204-square-foot school with at least 47 classrooms at the corner lot near the Elmhurst border.

The school will also include a gym/auditorium, locker rooms, kitchen and cafeteria, faculty offices and a nurse office and outdoor recreational space on the roof, according to the filing.

The large–yet obscure–real estate developer is behind several major projects citywide and even owned the famed Chelsea Hotel for two years.

Chetrit acquired the site of the Queens Motor Inn in Woodside in August 2017 and demolished that building a year later to raise a 11-story mixed-use development in its place.
