Driver Fatally Strikes Pedestrian While Backing Out of Driveway in Jackson Heights

A 57-year-old man is dead after being struck by a car that was backing out of a driveway in Jackson Heights Saturday, police said.

The driver—who was operating a grey Honda—hit the man while reversing out of a driveway located at 30-23 69th St. at around 6:15 p.m.

EMS transported the man to NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst with severe body trauma and was pronounced dead.

The name of the victim is being withheld pending family notification. No arrests have been made and the investigation is still ongoing, according to police.
