Soccer star David Villa is gifting one lucky fan a pair of signed boots to promote Queensboro FC, the new pro soccer team that will begin playing in Queens in 2021.

Villa, a member of the Spanish national team that won the 2010 FIFA World Cup, will personally give the boots to the sweepstakes winner at a fan event on Feb. 5.

The Spanish player founded the borough’s own professional soccer team, Queensboro FC together with Jonathan Krane, a New York City-based asset manager, in November.

“With only a few weeks left to go, we hope all soccer fans in Queens will enter for the chance to win this pair of boots signed by World Cup winner David Villa,” Kane, principal owner of Queensboro FC, said. “We are excited to continue growing our fan base here in Queens and to bring the world’s game to the world’s borough.”

Fans can enter the Queensboro FC sweepstakes online for a chance to win the signed pair of boots until Feb. 3.

Queensboro FC will compete in The USL Championship, a Division II professional league that is a tier below Major League Soccer.

It will host its home matches in a new modular stadium fit to hold 7,500 fans according to ESPN at Jamaica’s York College and play select matches at Citi Field.
