Suspect (NYPD)

Dec. 27, 2019 By Kristen Torres

A 53-year-old man was slashed multiple times across the face and robbed in the vestibule of his Elmhurst apartment building earlier this week, according to police.

The victim was attacked at around 8 a.m. on Christmas Eve as he was entering his home near Benham Street and Roosevelt Avenue, police said.

The suspect approached the victim on the street and pushed the man inside his residential building. He then slashed the victim across the face multiple times before taking his cellphone and his wallet that contained $900 in cash.

Police said the suspect fled the scene, and the victim was transported to NYC Health and Hospitals/Elmhurst where he was treated for lacerations. He was listed in stable condition.

Anyone with information in regard to the identity of the suspect is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
