Candlelight Vigil for Paris, takes place at Diversity Plaza Sunday

parisNov. 14, 2015 Staff Report

Community and faith leaders will join together Sunday to pray for peace and remember the 129-plus victims killed in a wave of terrorist attacks that struck Paris on Friday night.

The Jackson Heights event is scheduled to take place at Diversity Plaza, located on 37th Road between 73rd and 74th Streets . It begins at 5 pm.

The occasion pays tribute to the innocent victims who were shot dead at a concert venue as well as in restaurants and bars at several sites in Paris. About 130 are dead and 180 people were injured.

In May, Diversity Plaza was the location where hundreds gathered following the tragic earth quake in Nepal. A candlelight was organized by various Tibetan groups.
