Motorcyclist Killed in Early Morning Traffic Collision in East Elmhurst

A motorcyclist is dead after colliding into another vehicle early Sunday morning in East Elmhurst.

At 4:39 a.m. Sunday, police responded to a motor vehicle collision at 83rd Street and 31st Avenue, where they found a 25-year-old man lying on the road with trauma about his head and body upon arrival. EMS responded and pronounced him dead at the scene.

The 25-year-old had been riding a 2007 Honda CBR 600 motorcycle at a high speed westbound on 31st Avenue when he collided with a 2018 Grand Jeep Cherokee which was traveling northbound on 83rd Street, according to an investigation by the NYPD Highway District’s Collision Investigation Squad.

The 52-year-old male driver of the Jeep remained at the scene and there were no arrests. The investigation is ongoing and the name of the deceased has not been released, pending family notification.
