Man Beaten and Robbed by 2 Police Impersonators in Elmhurst: NYPD

Police are looking for two suspects who impersonated police officers and stole $900 worth of valuables from a man while beating him in Elmhurst in July.

The incident occurred in the vicinity of 41st Avenue and 81st Street in the early hours of the morning on Wednesday, July 17 at about 2 a.m.

According to the NYPD, the two suspects approached the 37-year-old victim on bikes and started punching and kicking him around the head and body.

They took his phone and his wallet and told him that they were police officers before fleeing the scene in an unknown direction.

The victim was transported to Elmhurst Hospital with swelling and bruising around his face.

Police describe the suspects as Hispanic men in their late teens to early 20s. One suspect wore all white clothing, while the other wore all dark.

Queens elected officials secure $70 million from New York State Budget for school safety equipment in religious and independent schools

Religious and independent schools throughout the city will soon receive additional funding for school safety equipment, thanks to Assemblymember Andrew Hevesi and State Senator Michael Gianaris, who, after extensive advocacy efforts, successfully secured $70 million from the New York State Budget for 2024-25 for Non-Public School Safety Equipment (NPSE) grants.
