Man Throws Wrench During Fight On Subway Platform, Hits Bystander In The Head

A 64-year-old woman was struck in the head by a wrench that was thrown during an argument between two men at the Roosevelt Ave-Jackson Heights subway station, according to police.

The victim was sitting on the platform at the station at 4:25 p.m. on Monday, July 1, when two men became involved in a physical altercation. During the fight, one man threw a wrench at the other and missed—instead hitting the woman on the forehead.

The woman was taken to a local hospital in a stable condition, but she was observed to have suffered lacerations to the head.

The man suspected of throwing the wrench was later caught on CCTV buying a bottle of water at a nearby restaurant. He was observed to be short-haired and bearded, wearing a blue baseball cap, white shirt and dark pants.

Not one comment feeling bad for the woman who got hurt. I hope she’s okay, but things like this put fear in people for a very long time and they avoid the places where they got hurt. My heart goes out to her.
