Brazilian restaurant to open on Roosevelt Ave.

Brazilian

May 15, 2015 By Michael Florio

A Brazilian buffet/restaurant is about to open on Roosevelt Avenue.

Aroma Brazil, located at 75-13 Roosevelt Ave, is expected to open on June 8th and will focus on Brazilian barbeque, according to owner Sydney Costa.

Costa claims that there is shortage of Brazilian food in Jackson Heights and believes that he will be filling a void.

Costa said he has spent the past five years preparing to open a Brazilian restaurant. He said he had researched a number of neighborhoods and determined that Jackson Heights was the most viable.

“Originally I wanted to open in Astoria,” he said. “But there are already three or four Brazilian restaurants there… while there are none in Jackson Heights.”

“Brazilian food is becoming more and more popular and Jackson Heights needed this,” he added.

Costa said that his Brazilian restaurant will serve large portions at a good price.

The restaurant will offer steak, chicken and sausage all cooked fresh on a Brazilian barbeque. Customers will be able to choose the amount they want, and will be able to mix and match as much as they want, all for $5.99 per pound, Costa said.

There will also be a salad bar, soup and even desserts.

“If there is a kid who wants to try all of our cakes they will have the option to take a small piece of each,” he said.

The restaurant will be able to seat 45 people.
