Plans Filed for Six-Family Mixed-Use Building on Roosevelt Avenue

Parking lot where new building planned at 108-63 Roosevelt Ave (Google Maps)

March 25, 2019 By Meghan Sackman

Plans have been filed for a four-story, mixed use building at 108-63 Roosevelt Ave in Corona.

The building is slated to go up on a vacant site at 108-63 Roosevelt Ave., previously used as a parking lot by Metropolitan Lumber and Hardware.

John Po Sheng Hsu, who is listed as the owner, plans to construct six residential units on top of ground floor commercial space.

The four story building, to be located close to the 111th Street station, will be 44 feet tall and about 5,622 square feet. About 1,000 square feet will be used for commercial space, with the remainder for residential.

The building is being designed by Michael Kang Architect.

Demolition permits have yet to be filed and a completion date has not yet been announced.

Nice, legal 6 family = 8-10 families here in Queens. Dept of Buildings rarely checks, that’s why our census count is extremely undercounted. Heck my dominican neighbors turned a 2 family into a 4 family, no problem!

The census should once again include a question of citizenship, naturalization, or “green card” status. The census once had this question: “If foreign born — Is he naturalized?”

We need an accurate population account.

Ahh Queens New York, home of the outdoor closet. In all fairness the indoor closets have been converted to illegal bedrooms.
