The first annual Flushing Meadows-Corona Park Halloween Parade will kick off this Sunday at 11 am.
The parade will begin at the Hall of Science and will finish at the Playground for All Children. About 250 people are expected.
The parade will include a costume contest judged by the elected officials.
Councilwoman Julissa Ferreras-Copeland, Queens Borough President Melinda Katz and Assemblyman Jeffrion Aubry are hosting the parade.
The event will be followed by the annual Shockoberfest, which features a pumpkin patch, haunted house, bounce houses and activities for children of all ages.
Shockoberfest will take place at Playground for All Children.
“Kids and adults have enjoyed Shockoberfest so much and often come dressed up to the pumpkin patch or bounce houses,” Ferreras-Copeland said.
“I thought having a parade inside the park would bring even more fun—it’ll be safe and a great use of our scenic park.”
