NYPD: Men steal car in East Elmhurst and then caught on tape at McDonald’s drive-through

The police are looking for two men who allegedly stole a car in East Elmhurst and then days later were caught on tape going through a McDonald’s drive-through in Flushing.

According to police, the car was stolen on Saturday, August 19 around 9:30 pm in the vicinity of 71st Street and 25th Avenue.

Days later, around 4:40 pm on August 23, the car was used at the McDonald’s drive-through at the 88-05 Astoria Boulevard location where the alleged perpetrators purchased a meal.

The first suspect has been described as Hispanic, with a mustache, Afro and a tattoo on his left forearm and was last seen wearing a white tank top. The second individual could not be identified.

A Manhattan man was arrested on Saturday and charged in the fatal stabbing of an East Elmhurst man during the early morning hours of New Year’s Day in what notably became the city’s first homicide of 2024.

Torrence Holmes, 35, of St. Nicholas Place in Hamilton Heights, was taken into custody at his home and transported back to Queens, where he was booked at the 110th Precinct in Elmhurst on manslaughter and other charges on Saturday afternoon.
