Feb. 3, 2019 Staff Report

A man was shot dead on the platform at the 90th Street-Elmhurst Av subway station Sunday afternoon.

Police responded to 911 calls of shots being fired at the 90th Street-Elmhurst Av subway station at around 12:45 p.m.

Upon arrival, they discovered an unidentified man in his 20s unconscious and unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the head.

EMS arrived and pronounced the man dead at the scene. There are no arrests and the identity of the victim has yet to be released.

The New York Times reported that the victim was arguing with two men on board a Manhattan-bound 7 train as it pulled into the 90th Street station. The conductor heard several shots, the Times reported, and then saw the victim lying on the platform.

The station was temporarily closed while the police conducted an investigation.

This is what happens when you are soft on crime. Mayor DeBlasio takes away power from the NYPD and gives it to the criminals with his policies, all so he could look good

FACTS

People are getting shot in broad daylight. Criminals don’t follow NYC’s strict gun laws.
BRING BACK STOP & FRISK

Great point

Yes, the fourth amendment is meaningless! The cops should be able to search all americans for no reason at all, whenever they want to

Now we know this incident was related to MS13 and 18th Street gang activity. The question is: What is their immigration status? Legal or illegal? If they turn out to be here illegally we should hold our liberal politicians accountable. Those who promote the so called “Sanctuary cities”, those who want to abolish ICE, and those who want to keep ICE out of Queens. We must protect our neighborhoods from these monsters. ICE should open an office on Roosevelt Ave.

Why so when you walk by Roosevelt ave you see only a few people there you are an idiot if you want that to happen. You must be a trump supporter since you want that

NYPD needs to have more plain clothes officers on the trains. ( & on patrol in unmarked cars ) .

Now there’s plenty of police at the station just hanging out
NYPD needs to be more proactive . Go after these “gangs” or ” crews “

Another reason why stop & frisk is needed ,
But the wonderful Mayor DeBlasio says it offends certain “people”

Stop and friaj can work only if it’s fair and unbiased. Sorry but it was not and many people of color were needlessly harassed.

We need to clean up Roosevelt Ave from all gang activity, drugs, and prostitution. A Business Improvement District would be a first step in the right direction.

Sources say the victim was a member of the 18th Street gang, which has been growing in Queens, and the gunman is believed to be a member of the rival gang MS-13. Dirtbag lowlives. This area is overrun with this vermin. Mayor does nothing.

Nothing but total thugs. Crazy how brazen they are to pull out a gun and shoot someone in broad daylight. But yes, let’s talk about how stop and frisk didn’t work….

Honestly, until Roosevelt is cleaned up, there really should be a police presence at every one of these stations as well as street patrolling, not just on 74th.

I would rather have its citizens armed than live in a police state where I would need to rely on the NYPD.

It’s time to clean house around that station, and Roosevelt Ave in general. I’m tired of seeing the graffiti, the drunken idiots, and the useless waste of skin children who think they’re tough by running with ABK, Sur 13, and 18th Street every time I walk to the subway. Instead of having sometimes 8(!) cops checking bags at 74th street the 115th should start making a sweep from Roosevelt to Northern, between 86th and 97th. They could start by responding to calls about gang activity immediately instead of waiting 2-4 hours. Come on 115, get your act together!

JHeights my whole life

The 115 doesn’t patrol the train statons in Jackson Hts. the trains are patrolled by. td20. Which is spread pretty thin throughout area train stations.

Bunch of punk kids who know its residents aren’t armed so they resort to gun violence. This is why NY should allow its citizens to be armed, instead of relying on useless NYPD, but legislators won’t because of paranoia.

AG’s office launches investigation into NYPD-involved fatal shooting near Roosevelt Avenue in Corona on Saturday morning

The New York Attorney General’s Office of Special Investigation (OSI) has launched a probe into the death of Jesus Alberto Nunez Reyes, 65, who was shot and killed during an encounter with NYPD officers in Corona on Saturday morning.

At approximately 4:09 a.m. on April 20, police officers responded to 39-21 103rd St., where they encountered Nunez Reyes allegedly holding a knife. The officers repeatedly commanded him to drop the knife, but Nunez Reyes did not comply, and an officer fired at him, the AG’s office said in a brief statement. Nunez Reyes was rushed to Elmhurst Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. Officers recovered a knife at the scene.
