Jackson Heights Boutique Store Closing Jan. 31

Jan. 5, 2018 By Tara Law

A Jackson Heights boutique that offers flowers, home decor, sweet treats and coffee is closing.

The owners of Pauglina, located 75-26 37th Ave, have announced the store will close on Jan. 31. All merchandise is currently 50 percent off.

The store opened in October 2016 and was a combination coffee bar, florist, and home decor shop.

The store owners, husband and husband duo Miguel Briceno and Jeffrey Whitney, announced the closing Jan. 2 on Facebook. They thanked their customers for their support during the store’s run.

“No regrets and it’s been a pleasure to serve the Jackson Heights community as it continues to thrive albeit sans Pauglina,” said the posting.

Briceno and Whitney are Jackson Heights residents.

Huge loss for the neighbourhood! I am so sad about this. It was such a beautiful, welcoming space with lovely and interesting things. I could always count on the gorgeous flowers and on Miguel’s ready smile. I will miss Pauglina so much!

I bought several Christmas presents at Pauglina this year and last year, and the owners were so nice and welcoming to me and my kids. We’ll miss them!

The victim was standing on the southbound M/R platform at the 59th Avenue subway station on the Queens Boulevard line when a stranger approached her and touched her left buttocks, police said. The brute fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction. The woman was not injured during the incident.
