Enraged man threatens to blow up Elmhurst Hospital, upset by quality of daughter’s care

A Brooklyn man who felt his infant daughter was not getting the proper care at Elmhurst Hospital on Thursday threatened to “shoot it up or blow it up,” referencing the recent shooting at Bronx Lebanon Hospital, the police said.

According to an NYPD spokesman, at about 3:20 p.m., Jamar Claiborne, 34, called the hospital at 79-01 Broadway, and said “You know what happened at Bronx-Lebanon, I have no issue with doing the same thing. I would kill for my daughter, I don’t care, I have been in the service, I have a crazy card, I know I will be arrested.”

Claiborne was arrested on Friday and charged with three counts of making terroristic threats, three counts of aggravated harassment and three counts of harassment.

Claiborne was arraigned Saturday and is being held at Rikers Island on $50,000 bail or $100,000 bond. He has been ordered back to court on July 28.

This hospital is terable. I think its. Rikers Island hospital. They treat people nasty. And emegency room is dirty. They treat oatients lime they are prisoners.. People can’t help because they get sick. I have sickle cell anemia diseas and they treated me so harrable. I was in so much pain. I was screaming so bad they was looking at me like I was crazy. My mother had to take me out of there and take me to New York Prespitarian hospital. I had to blood transfusions in NewYork hospital Elmhurst hospital is not a good hospital at all. I even was born in Elmhurst hospital. Why mom poor choice… But that man shouldn’t threaten them that was a bad one man.. You should of just called the better buisness bural office…

This hospital is only good for trauma…anything else you better off going to a hospital in Manhattan. My dad had to spend a few nights and the room was stuffy! No AC they told us to bring a fan into the room then on top of that he had a urine infection and they said he didn’t have an infection. He goes to another hospital and they said yes he has infection and they gave him antibiotics. After a few days he felt better so yeah public hospital in general just isn’t as good as private.

Police from the 112th Precinct in Forest Hills and Transit District 20 are looking for a man, who is built like an NFL player, for allegedly groping a 50-year-old woman as she waited for the subway near the Queens Center Mall in Elmhurst on Monday morning.

The victim was standing on the southbound M/R platform at the 59th Avenue subway station on the Queens Boulevard line when a stranger approached her and touched her left buttocks, police said. The brute fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction. The woman was not injured during the incident.

AG’s office launches investigation into NYPD-involved fatal shooting near Roosevelt Avenue in Corona on Saturday morning

The New York Attorney General’s Office of Special Investigation (OSI) has launched a probe into the death of Jesus Alberto Nunez Reyes, 65, who was shot and killed during an encounter with NYPD officers in Corona on Saturday morning.

At approximately 4:09 a.m. on April 20, police officers responded to 39-21 103rd St., where they encountered Nunez Reyes allegedly holding a knife. The officers repeatedly commanded him to drop the knife, but Nunez Reyes did not comply, and an officer fired at him, the AG’s office said in a brief statement. Nunez Reyes was rushed to Elmhurst Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. Officers recovered a knife at the scene.
